哈金（本名金雪飛，英文筆名Ha Jin，1956年2月21日－），出生於中國遼寧省。華裔美國作家，小說多以中國為題材，比較適合美國讀者與媒體的價值觀和欣賞口味。

哈金1956年出生於遼寧省，父親是一名軍官。哈金在1969年文化大革命時加入解放軍。1981年畢業於黑龍江大學，取得英語學士學位，1984年取得山東大學北美文學碩士學位。

1989年當哈金在美國的布蘭代斯大學留學時，六四天安門事件發生，中國政府的武力鎮壓使得他決定移民海外，他在1992年取得哲學博士學位後繼續得待在美國，1990年時出版了第一本詩集《沉默之間》。

他的文學創作多半將場景設定在中國一個虛構的城市「無地」（Muji）。小說曾獲得許多文學獎項，包括美國國家圖書獎跟PEN/Faulkner Award （筆會／福克納獎） Waiting (1999)。他所創作出來的許多短篇故事被選入美國最佳短篇故事選當中。他的故事集Under the Red Flag（光天化日） (1997) 獲得了 Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction（短篇小說弗來尼里．歐克納獎），同時Ocean of Words（字海） (1996) 獲得了 PEN/Hemingway Award（筆會／海明威獎）。小說War Trash（戰爭垃圾）(2004)把場景設於韓戰，也替他贏得了PEN/Faulkner Award（筆會／福克納獎），並躋身於普利茲獎的決選作品之列。

哈金曾任教於亞特蘭大的艾文理大學，現任教於麻州波士頓大學。
